Agree on the bookkeeping and month-end scope
In the first consultation, set the period, the entities, the number of transactions and the state of your opening balances. The written scope should say whether the work covers bookkeeping, reconciliation, adjusting entries and monthly reports.
- Prepare invoices, proof of payment, bank statements, lists of receivables and payables, and the previous period's reports.
- Agree on the document cut-off date, the list of open items and who on your side answers questions about them.
- Confirm the outputs you need, as covered by the scope: general ledger, reconciliation list, profit and loss, balance sheet or management report.
