A finance workflow around Odoo

Odoo can stay your main ERP while Finday.ai handles document intake, approvals, draft transactions and exception review.

  • Finance work is organized before data enters the ERP.
  • Approvals can follow your company policy.
  • Supporting documents are stored with the transaction they belong to.

Easier when finance covers several functions

Accounting, tax, payroll and reconciliation can be prepared as connected processes, so your team doesn't switch between manual files.

  • Mapping for vendors, customers and the chart of accounts.
  • Support for month-end close and management reports.
  • Human review for the areas that need judgment.

Before you start

What we agree on with you before any work begins, so the scope and who is responsible for what are clear from the first month.

Odoo data objects and sync direction

Start with a list of the objects you need: suppliers or customers, ledger accounts, invoices, payments and journal entries. You and the implementation team map this list together. Support for each object has to be confirmed for your Odoo account before activation.

  • The flow described on this page: documents come into Finday.ai, the drafts are reviewed, and approved data goes to Odoo by the method you agree on.
  • If reference data has to be read from Odoo, decide which system is the main source, how each transaction is identified and how updates are handled, so nothing is recorded twice.
  • Two-way sync, real-time schedules and coverage of every object are not included by default. Write the direction, frequency and objects into the implementation scope.

Prerequisites, connection method and limits

Write down your Odoo version, edition, hosting model, accounting module and any custom modules. External access and the data model differ between installations, so custom changes are tested in an agreed test environment.

  • Confirm whether the connection uses an API or a file exchange for the objects you choose. API access, usage limits and import formats are set by the source system.
  • Prepare sample data with sensitive details removed, your account mapping, currencies, tax codes and the person responsible for approvals.
  • Decide how to handle failed transactions, duplicate documents, locked periods and changes made after posting. Any extension of scope is assessed separately.

Example: a supplier invoice on its way to Odoo

This illustrates the process and is not a customer case study. A supplier invoice arrives, its amount and references are checked, and the finance team reviews the draft before approving it for the accounting system.

  • Before sending: check the supplier, expense account, date, currency and tax treatment.
  • After sending: compare the reference and total in both systems, and log any failure for review before retrying.
  • In the demo, ask the team to show the same objects in your test account, including one failed transaction and how a duplicate is handled.

Frequently asked questions

Anything else, ask us directly on WhatsApp.

Can Finday.ai connect to Odoo?

Finday.ai supports Odoo integration workflows, depending on your company's access, data structure, API and implementation needs.

Does Odoo remain the source of truth?

It can. Finday.ai acts as the automation and review layer while Odoo stays your ERP and the source of truth for accounting.

How does Finday.ai keep AI output accurate?

Finday.ai works inside the checks you set: your company policies, an audit trail, approval steps and review by people. AI speeds up the preparation, and a person makes the final decision.

Do all Odoo objects sync both ways straight away?

Not by default. The objects, sync direction, connection method, frequency and access permissions are confirmed in the implementation scope. Before activation, ask for a demo that uses sample transactions like yours.

What should I prepare before an integration demo?

Have the system name and version ready, along with your subscription plan, the objects you want to connect, a rough monthly volume, your account mapping and some anonymized sample data. Please don't send passwords or API keys over WhatsApp.
